If you are above 60 or helping a senior citizen, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Check Your SMSLook for an SMS from your bank. It will show if money was debited. Note the transaction reference number (UTR or RRN number).

Step 2: Wait 24 HoursMost failed or pending UPI transactions are automatically reversed within 24 hours. Please wait before panicking.

Step 3: Check Your Bank App or PassbookOpen your bank app or check your account balance. See if the money has come back yet.

Step 4: Call Your BankIf money has not come back after 3–5 days, call your bank’s customer care. Give them your UTR number from the SMS.

Step 5: Raise a Complaint in Your UPI AppOpen the UPI app (GPay / PhonePe / Paytm / BHIM), go to transaction history, tap on the transaction, and choose “Raise Dispute” or “Report Issue”.
