Before You Print a UPI QR Code, Read This First
If you collect payments daily โ at a shop, tuition class, temple, or as a freelancer โ a printed UPI QR code saves a lot of time. No need to read out your UPI ID, no typing mistakes by the payer, no back-and-forth.
This free UPI QR code generator lets you create one in under a minute. No sign-up, no app download. Once the page loads, the tool can continue working even if your internet disconnects
Who Actually Needs This
Most people rely on the QR code that their bank app or PhonePe already generated. That works fine. But there are situations where a custom QR code makes more sense:
- Your shop has multiple staffโyou want a printed QR at the counter that everyone can show
- You’re a freelancer sharing your payment details over WhatsApp or email
- You run a small NGO, temple, or event and want a fixed-amount donation QR
- You want your shop name and logo on the QR so it looks professional
The fixed-amount feature is genuinely useful for fee collection. A tuition teacher, for example, can create a QR with โน1,500 pre-filled so parents donโt have to enter the amount manually, reducing mistakes and payment confusion.
One Mistake People Make
Many shopkeepers generate the QR but never scan it themselves before printing.
Always scan your own QR once after generating it. Open GPay or PhonePe, scan it, and check that your name and UPI ID appear correctly on the payment screen. Only then print or share it.
This takes 10 seconds and can prevent a costly mistake โ especially if there’s a typo in your UPI ID.
About the Logo Feature
Adding a logo is optional, but it helps your printed QR look more professional and recognizable, making customers feel more confident while paying.
Keep the logo image under 200KB and use a square PNG with a transparent or white background. Round logos look the cleanest on the QR. Avoid small text in the logo โ it won’t be readable at QR size.
After You Download
The downloaded QR is a PNG image. You can:
- Print it on A4 paper and laminate it for your counter
- Add it to your visiting card or invoice footer
- Share it directly on WhatsApp to receive payments remotely
If you ever change your UPI ID or bank, remember to generate a fresh QR. The old one will stop working.
If you face a failed UPI transaction later, check the UPI Error Code Meaning Tool to understand what went wrong. And if you want to know your daily transaction limits, the UPI Daily Limit Checker is helpful.
FAQs
Can I use this QR on Google Pay and PhonePe both?
Yes. The QR follows India’s standard UPI format and works on all UPI-supported apps.
Will the fixed amount stop a customer from paying more or less?
On most UPI apps, the amount field gets pre-filled but the payer can still change it. It reduces confusion but doesn’t fully lock the amount.
Is my UPI ID stored anywhere when I use this tool?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server.
My logo is more than 200KB โ what should I do?
Use a free tool like TinyPNG to compress it before uploading. Most logos compress easily under 100KB.
