UPI payments may remain pending when banks take time to reconcile transactions between the sending and receiving bank. Network delays, bank server downtime, or high transaction volumes can cause this. It usually resolves automatically within 24 hours. If not resolved, contact your bank with the UTR number.
UPI refunds typically take 24 to 48 hours for most banks including HDFC, ICICI, and SBI. Most failed UPI transactions are automatically reversed within 24 hours. In some cases the process may take up to 3 business days depending on bank processing. Wrong transfers may take 7 to 15 business days depending on the bank and recipient cooperation.
